"Volunteers don't necessarily
have the time but
they have the heart"

In the past few years as I have taken on the job of "Food and More" at the Gammelgarden Museum I have had the privilege of working with many volunteers. This delightful group of characters would love to be able to train and educate a new batch of volunteers to help with and or take over tasks of the museum.

There are always openings for more volunteers as each year the number of guests who visit the museum increases. This means the more guests we have the more we need extra hands to help keep these educational and entertaining events flourishing.

Being a Scandia resident or a member of Elim Luthern Church is not required for volunteering.

Make this year your year to start the volunteering process. Remember you can bring friends and family to help also and it is an inexpensive way to keep the kids busy and get some 'quality family time' too.

Some of the fun of volunteering is knowing what your doing and how to help when needed. Everyone has a gift, so let us help you name yours before the next event so you to can help.

We thank those whole heartedly, who have already dedicated hours of their time to our community museum, Gammelgarden. Whether volunteering in the gift shop, as a tour guide, baking bread and cookies, kitchen help or gardening, every task achieved with great care and a big smile.

Although we would love to be able to call every one to ask for help, there are not enough hours in the day, we must rely that you will call us.

Winston Churchill said "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give back."

Live a little, volunteer.

Thank you,
